Between the new moon and the first quarter moon is the intermediate phase of the waxing crescent. As promised I am writing today to update you on some open threads.
My Dad is doing so well. They had changed his heart medication and got it wrong, so he had been really struggling with fluid on his heart. Now that that has been taken care of and he is sleeping at night, he is thankfully so much more comfortable. He has moved to a new place and still has the great support of hospice and Linda and lots of loving visitors, so he is in a good place for now.
My mom has also entered hospice since I left. Which is a good thing because it means so much more support for Bill. Hospice is making home visits to help with mom’s medical care and bathing. It has been a couple hard weeks which seems to go along with with some new medications, so hopefully some adjustments will help. She has been more out of it, sleeping, and not able to take care of her own basic needs. As a result it is harder to keep her at home. She is on a waiting list for a memory care placement and a spot is likely to open in the next month. Her home health aids continue to be amazing, singing while they care for her. Well, Jen mostly, and they are all great, but especially Jen.
This month I will be creating a series of meditations focussed on the moon phases. I uploaded my first one this morning. It is linked here if you want to listen: Sitting Meditation for the New Moon. I make a connection to journal writing in it, so for all of you interested in experimenting with Moon Journalling, check it out. I will be publishing Yoga Poetry Radio on Wednesdays while the primary moon phases have me writing on Mondays.
I have been making TikTok Postcards of my travels. The ones from Spain are still in process. It reminds me of Barbara Kingsolver’s book Animal Dreams, TikToks are like the dreams of what I was doing last week or the week before. And after I get Spain postcards off, then, fingers crossed, I have one more collection after that that to complete which has involved taking video of clocks. Here is a link to my TikTok profile, if you want to see any of my postcards.
Please feel free to share with anyone you think may be interested. Thanks for reading. All the ways you engage make such a difference. More soon.
Much love, Tina
