Today in the northern hemisphere our days and nights are of equal length.

Tomorrow the balance begins to shift, the nights will grow longer as our days shorten. We find ourselves at the juncture between summer and fall and it’s time to sit down with our journal pages!

The Worksheets has been my customary seasonal gift to paid subscribers for the past few years, so we have been taking the time to journal regularly at the juncture of the seasons. In Ayurveda, it is believed that it is at the changing of the seasons that we are the most vulnerable to illness entering the body. And here in the US, our fall season routines challenge us the most strikingly. Everything begins in earnest. The schools year. Election campaigns. Harvest time is upon us. Our bodies are processing high levels of allergens in the air. We will shore up our shelters and put away stores for the winter. Especially during these busy times, we need to make the time to commune with all that is going on, both inside our bodies and out, and set our trajectories on the right course. When we don’t, our momentum only has our fears and anxieties to work with, and that will take us exactly where we don’t want to go.
