Hello to you. I am just returning from a work trip this past week. It was a work day and travel day yesterday and as a result I have some data to process today. For this halfway point, I share photos from my walk around downtown Milwaukee and a big thank you to cousin Emily who pointed me in the right direction.
View of the street from my co-worker’s hotel window. Looks kind of magical doesn’t it?
Next time I will know that the public market opens at 10 am and I will plan my trip so that I can go inside.
Mural in the Historic Third Ward called “The Unsung Hero” on the side of the Dye House building. It pays tribute to Milwaukee’s female working class from the past and was modeled by a woman who works in the neighborhood today, chef Karen Bell who owns Bavette La Boucherie Restaurant. She was a James Beard Award finalist. Check out the restaurant if you come here.
Feather found on the way to Milwaukee Art Museum.

Muraled passageway under the freeway.
Goats as architectural façade, what does it mean?
Pedestrian bridge to the museum.
Views down hallways and a Calder in the lobby. The show “Scandinavian Design and the United States 1890 - 1980” opens here March 24th. Anyone want to go with me?
The building was designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava and completed in 2001. It looks like a ship sailing off into Lake Michigan. Apparently the wings open and close. Who knew?
View out over Lake Michigan.
Walkway view leaving the museum.
Murals, murals everywhere.
Views from windows are my specialty.
In a week the new moon rolls around again and I ask you how do you get ready? I am still in the process of reviewing the past year. That’s what this month is about for me. As the new moon rolls around I will focus on intentions. This past lunation has been an interlude for me. Work was slow. Family was together. What will the next lunation bring?
Much love, Tina

I would love to go see that art show with you. How long does it run?
This is lovely, T. The photos with their captions are like poetry.
