In trying to upload a photo on an internet that is not strong enough, I lost a full post I’d written. Which is sad, because even though it was a quick knock off of a post, I thought there was some good stuff in there. And now the quickness is gone and I’m here trying to recreate what was lost. I had already lamented the no photos, but I couldn’t make the flashing question mark icon go away. I hadn’t realized that by navigating away from it I would lose it forever.
Josh and I reunited in Paris after 3 weeks apart, which has been as long as it has been in our whole long lives together. And we had fun walking our legs off through the beautiful streets of Paris. There will be TikToks of course. The only photos I seem to have taken when we were resting in the parks. I was enamored by the green chairs in Jardin des Tuileries and Le Jardin du Luxembourg. More soon.
And we ate. Pain au Chocolate, crapes, at our hotel Restaurant which was food of the Basque region. More soon.
And I loved how Paris is more low key than London and Amsterdam and Parisians’ emphasis on greeting people. The formality of looking someone in the eye and wishing them a good day before getting down to business. It makes sense to me that the seed to our American Liberty came from a country with that nod to the individual. That the practice of that first awareness of the other is perhaps what is lost in our rendition of Liberty. I hope I have more on that soon.
And of course there was more in my first post. Some stuff about the restaurant La Maison Rose and its being featured in Emilie in Paris and us being featured in the background of many a Instagram posts there. But I need to go get out into Barcelona now, where I expect the food to be even better and I want to see me some Gaudi. More is forthcoming on TikTok and I will try to post more sooner rather than later. Wherever you are, get out to see the full moon.
Much Love, Tina.
