This morning the moon hit the half-sphere mark in the sky and we have made our way into the intermediate phase of waning crescent. It will be new moon again next week, Wednesday, November 23. I am winding down this lunation on a yoga retreat that begins tomorrow and its been busy busy, in many many schools the past little bit, so this post will be short and sweet.
How about that election? I am grateful to the young people. For they turned out. And had a meaningful impact on the election. For that they have my eternal gratitude. I was bolstered to wake up last Wednesday to a world that had put value in democracy.
And instead of looking ahead to 2024, I’m going to pay attention to governance in the meantime. Democracy is a long slog through thick and thin, as is so much of life. And I value accountability above party so I plan to keep watching and I hope this new state of affairs means that meaningful work will get done. There’s still so much to do.
I spent some time in Duluth this week. Some for work and some for play.
We hiked up to the top of Duluth for the view and found the Ohara Peace Bell from Duluth’s sister city in Japan. This is actually a replica of the original bell which was returned to Japan. See the photo below to read the whole story. I made this TikTok for you so you could hear the sounds. Enjoy!

Tina, I love this story of two cultures and their kindnesses towards each other.
